Goal: Convert a regular image (like a JPEG or PNG) into a scalable vector graphic (SVG, AI, etc.) using Adobe Illustrator.

🔧 Step 1: Prep Your Image

• Find the image you want to vectorize. Simpler images (with high contrast or fewer colors) work better.
• Open Adobe Illustrator.

🖼️ Step 2: Import the Image

1. Go to File > Open (or File > Place if you’re inserting it into an existing document).
2. Select your image and click Place (if using that method).
3. Click on the canvas to drop the image in.

1. Select the image (click on it).

2. Go to the top bar and click Image Trace (or use Window > Image Trace to bring up the panel for more options).

3. Choose a Preset based on your image:

   • 6 Colors / 16 Colors – for stylized effects
